Chicken doner is a prepared cone, supplied ready for the spit, for kitchens running a chicken spit alongside or instead of lamb. Ingredient and allergen information is supplied with the goods; confirm the current specification and cone weight when ordering. Chicken must be fully cooked through before carving, which is the one handling note that differs from our lamb and beef doner products.

What it is

As with our Mix Doner and Lamb Doner, this is a finished, prepared product made up ready for the spit rather than a raw cut. The composition and seasoning specification is supplied with the goods at the point of order.

How it is prepared

Cook on the spit and carve from the outside as it colours. Chicken must be fully cooked through before any carving begins — check this before serving, unlike a lamb or beef doner where colour alone is often the guide.

Typical trade use

Kebab houses, takeaways and restaurants running a chicken spit alongside or instead of lamb are the main buyers. Kitchens running a full doner range often stock chicken alongside our Beef Ribs and other grill items for a wider spit-and-grill menu.

Ordering notes

Confirm cone weight and seasoning specification, and whether you need chilled or frozen supply, when ordering. Browse the full Doner range, within the wider Doner category, for the rest of the order. Ingredient and allergen information is supplied with the goods; confirm the current specification.

Frequently asked questions

Does chicken doner need different handling to lamb or beef doner?

Yes — chicken must be fully cooked through before carving. Colour alone is not a reliable guide the way it can be with lamb or beef.

Is cone weight adjustable for our spit?

Yes — confirm the cone weight you need when ordering.

Cut specification, portion size and preparation notes are passed to our butchers exactly as you give them — we do not adjust or simplify them. Average unit weights vary from carcass to carcass; please confirm weights and case quantities when ordering.
