Whole Chicken 1100 is a whole bird supplied to the 1100 weight grade, bone-in and complete rather than pre-jointed. Whole birds are ordered by grade rather than simply as ‘a chicken’ because size decides both roasting time and how many covers one bird will serve; grade 1100 sits directly between our smallest numbered grade and the 1200, for kitchens that want a compact bird with slightly more on it than the smallest size we carry.
What it is
The bird arrives whole and on the bone, skin on unless you ask us to remove it, as part of the same whole chicken range as every other grade we hold. Only the grade number changes between sizes — the kitchen still decides how the bird is broken down and cooked.
How it is prepared
Options run from whole through to spatchcocked, halved, quartered or fully jointed, with skin on or off and giblets in or out — all confirmed at the point of order rather than fixed in advance.
Typical trade use
This grade suits single-cover roasts and grill or charcoal service where a slightly fuller bird than our smallest grade is wanted, without moving up to the twin-cover yield of Whole Chicken 1200. It sits between Whole Chicken 1000 below and Whole Chicken 1200 above, and kitchens choosing between the three usually decide on covers per bird rather than anything else; treat any portion estimate as a guide, since the actual yield depends on how a dish is plated.
Ordering notes
As with every grade, we supply exactly the size you specify rather than substitute a neighbouring one without asking — confirm the grade and case quantity when you order. Ingredient and allergen information is supplied with the goods; confirm the current specification.

Frequently asked questions
Is Whole Chicken 1100 sold jointed or whole?
It is supplied whole by default. If you need it broken down into breast, leg and wing portions, tell us when you order and we will joint it to your specification.
What separates grade 1100 from grade 1000 and grade 1200?
All three are whole, bone-in birds prepared the same way — only the size differs. Whole Chicken 1000 is our smallest numbered grade, 1100 sits just above it, and Whole Chicken 1200 is the next step up again for twin-cover service.
How many portions does grade 1100 typically give?
It’s sized for single-cover service in most kitchens, though the exact yield depends on how the dish is plated — confirm your portioning plan with us if you’re working to a tight cover count.
