Our roasting joints are prepared from whichever hindquarter or rib cut you choose, then rolled, netted and trimmed so they arrive ready for the oven with no further butchery needed. They are built for kitchens running carvery, banqueting or Sunday service where consistent timings matter more than which specific muscle is used.

What it is

This is a preparation, not a single cut — we take the joint you specify, most often from the same muscles as our Beef Topside or Beef Eye Round, and roll, net and trim it to a finished weight. The point of the format is repeatability: the same weight and shape every time, so oven timings hold from one service to the next.

How it is prepared

Tell us the cut and the finished weight, and we prepare to it — barded, rolled, netted or tied to your preference. We do not supply a fixed default joint; the base cut and finish are both set by your specification.

Typical trade use

Carvery and Sunday service, banqueting, function catering and pub kitchens working without a butcher on site are the main users. Browse the full Steak Cuts range for the individual cuts these joints are prepared from, or the wider Beef category for the rest of the order.

Ordering notes

Confirm the base cut, finished weight, and preparation style (barded, rolled, netted, tied) — this product exists to match your specification, so we need those details before preparing it. Kitchens also sourcing slow-cook joints from the same order often add our Beef Brisket. For volume catering or recurring orders where you want the same specification every time, get in touch and we will set it up as a standing order. Ingredient and allergen information is supplied with the goods; confirm the current specification.

Frequently asked questions

Which cuts can be made into a roasting joint?

Most of our hindquarter and rib cuts can be prepared this way — tell us which cut and finished weight you want and we will roll and net it accordingly.

Do roasting joints come to a consistent weight every time?

Yes — that consistency is the point of ordering a prepared joint rather than a whole cut, so oven timings repeat reliably.

Cut specification, portion size and preparation notes are passed to our butchers exactly as you give them — we do not adjust or simplify them. Average unit weights vary from carcass to carcass; please confirm weights and case quantities when ordering.
